Wild Flowers – Writing

When their desire is only to grow, to thrive

How can you control? How can you claim to master?

Something so wild

Always climbing towards the sunshine

No matter the manner of sharpened tool that you use

We snip and cut, bend, tie and break

In ways that make us believe, we’ve become some kind of keeper

Yet under all of your pressures the will of the bough still refuses to yield

She may die, but she’ll never truly give way

And after all of your pruning’s, her trajectory still remains the same

As if she had a mind of her own

As if she had a soul of her own

And after all of your efforts to lead them, you still cannot claim to control

how she lives and grows

Because she will always follow after her loves

You can give her the richest of soils

And you can give her the purest of waters

but you can never replace the strength and warmth of the Sun

So tell me, how can you claim that the flowers are not still wild?

Take care everyone,
